Time Before Next Class
Thanks for coming to my web page! Let me take a minute to help you
understand my approach to teaching and learning, and tell you a little
about myself.
You might ask yourself.
Why do students come to Indian River Community College to study
business? There are no doubt many different responses to that
question, but there are some common themes that we see in students’
answers. While many cite the desire to earn a degree that will
open more doors for their careers, most students know that it takes more
than a diploma or certificate to impress today’s employers. As an
owner of several businesses, I can speak from an employers viewpoint.
One must be able to conduct an interview in which he or she demonstrates
their competence to perform in the position. Gaining competence
comes only from being exposed to successful ideas and formulating sound
strategies. In my classes, that will happen regularly. You
will be challenged to open your mind to new ways of looking at
important, but basic business approaches. If your career at IRCC
includes completing several courses with me, you will graduate with
valuable insights and confidence in your ability to succeed.
As I often tell my students,
we will not have open book tests, however, we will have "Open Mind"
tests. The student will not only have the classroom theory, but
real world experiences.
